The following is a list of the personnel who may be involved in the project, including details of their background in relation to the requirements of the project.

Dr Graham Ibbotson – Managing Director

Degree qualified Chemist and Microbiologists with 25 years experience in the Water Treatment and Water Hygiene. Attended risk assessment training courses run by Industrial Water Society and Wti. Wide practical experience in carrying our risk assessments for a variety of clients. HVCA Committee member responsible for writing TR17 and TR19.

Paul Trematick – Sales & Marketing Director

Qualified design draughtsmen and project engineer with experience in brewing, engineering and services industries. Attended risk assessment training courses run by Industrial Water Society and Wti. Sixteen years practical experience in carrying out risk assessments for a variety of clients.

James Parks-Smith – Water Treatment Specialist

Degree qualified. Working for Britewater as a Field Technologist. Has completed advanced Legionella risk assessment courses. Involved in carrying out Legionella Risk assessments, water sampling and monitoring of air and water systems.

John Evans JP, CFIOSH, CSHP – Health & Safety Consultant

Gwyn Rogers – Company Accountant

Sharon Rigby - Office Manager

Debra Hughes - Sales Co-ordinator

Angela Vernon - Administration

Lucy Humphreys - Administration

All administrators qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration and between them have over twenty years experience.


Southern Team

Tom Ibbotson – Water Treatment Specialist

Qualified Water Management Legionella assessor based in London working for Britewater as a Field Technologist on Water and Air Hygiene projects such as this.

Phil Moore – Field Supervisor

During his career has gained a substantial knowledge completing an apprenticeship in Engineering/Maintenance Fitting. Diverging into a supervisory role has various certificates in Health & Safety and Customer Care, whilst being responsible for organising, monitoring and scheduling various working teams covering a national grid.

Deborah Messenger & Wendy O’Doherty - Field Technicians

Both have attended courses and are trained in Legionella Awareness and have attended Health & Saftety tool box talks. Responsible for Legionella control testing, routine monitoring etc.


Field Operatives

Gareth Matthews – Gas/Plumbing Engineer (Team Leader)

Gareth a skilled problem solver who has a proactive approach to his work, has over 10 years experience and is a City & Guilds qualified Plumber/Gas Engineer and holds NVQ Level 3 (Advanced Plumbing), other certificates include:-

  • BPEC – Certificate of Competence (CCN1, CKR1, HTR1, CEN1, WAT1)
  • BPEC – Certificate of Achievement (UHW – Unvented hot water storage systems & Water regulations)
  • Part L – Energy Efficiency Certificate of Achievement
  • City & Guilds Level 2 (Mechanical Engineering Services – Plumbing)
  • Tracpipe Certificate of Training

During his time with our company he has also been trained in Legionella awareness, working at height and entry into confined spaces using escape breathing apparatus along with participation into our Health & Safety Tool box Talks and Field Operation Training days.


We have a team of fifteen field operatives all qualified in Legionella Awareness, working in confined spaces using escape breathing apparatus, working at height, COSSH, asbestos awareness, manual handling and attend regular monthly Health & Safety Tool Box Talks, and Field Operation Training days.
