Cleaning and Chlorination
Britewater provides field services for the cleaning and chlorination of all types of water systems, from potable water service reservoirs and mains distribution pipework to commercial building domestic services and industrial cooling towers. Disinfection of water systems using a variety of biocides is available.
Why?
Regular cleaning and chlorination of water systems is essential in order to prevent the growth of Legionella and other bacteria such as Pseudomonas, which can affect water system performance and more importantly endanger health.
Who is at risk?
Occupants of any building with domestic water systems are at risk from waterborne bacteria.
Legislation
As an employer or person in control of premises where there is a risk to health from domestic water systems, you have responsibility to follow the Approved Code of Practice issued by the Health & Safety Commission, L8, which provides guidance in the prevention and control of legionnaire’s disease.
